Your Impact!

At the 2025 State Convention, the total impact of what all the SAL Squadrons across Wisconsin last year was revealed.  And this was with only about 1/2 of the Squadrons reporting.  This information is taken from the Consolidated Squadron Report (CSR) which is usually submitted in late spring.

2025 Convention Awards

More than 300 Awards were given out at the 2025 State Convention.  Many were based on the outstanding membership accomplishments for the 2025 membership year.  

Some of the highlights include:
  • We have 133 Squadrons in 130 Different Cities and Villages
  • We are in 56 of 72 Counties, adding Marquette County this year.
  • We are in all 12 Districts
  • We are now at 4,739 Total Members a new All-Time High!
 New Squadrons

This past year saw us welcome 7 new squadrons!
 
District 1:          45 Elkhorn
District 2:          82 Port Washington
                         457 Mequon-Thiensville
                         486 Jackson
District 6:          351 Montello
District 8:          492 Rothschild
District 10:        365 Plum City

100 % Membership
  • 87 Squadrons – that’s 69% of Squadrons achieving 100%
  • 29 Counties are at or above 100%
  • 8 Districts as well

 All Time High Membership
  • 43 Squadrons – about one-third have achieved this.
Renewals
  • Overall Renewal Rate 89.04%
  • 83 Squadrons with 90+% Renewal Rate
Squadron Triple Nickel
Requires:
  • 5 new members
  • 85% or better renewals
  • 105% or better total membership
  • We had 19 Squadrons achieve this.
Nationally
Wisconsin is part of the Central Region which in 2nd place and we are closing in on 400,000 members.

2026 Missing Membership Cards Update

If, in addition to being an S.A.L. member, if you are also a Legion Paid-up-for-Life member with the Legion, those cards were missing in your original packet.  They have been printed and mailed to the squadrons at the address for your Post.  New rosters were not printed.

You can still process renewals for those members through MyLegion.org.  If your squadron is not set up to use that you can find out how at MyLegion - Sons of The American Legion (wisal.org)

2025 National Convention in Tampa

This year’s National Convention will be in Tampa, FL on Aug 22-24th.  Thank you to all our Delegates who will be going to this event to represent the Detachment of Wisconsin.  We have 14 delegates assigned to this convention.
 
For The Sons of The American Legion, a National Convention has three key purposes:
  • To celebrate all the great work the organization is doing at all levels
  • To elect the next set of National Officers
  • To conduct necessary business through resolutions from various Detachments

2025 - 2026 Detachment Officers & Contacts

Detachment Officers have multiple responsibilities, the most responsibilities involve supporting Squadrons in any way they can.  Whether this is helping fill out a Consolidate Squadron Report, updating the Squadron Information (officers and general information), learning how to utilize myLegion.org, general training, helping promote an upcoming Squadron event, working on membership, or any other needs a Squadron has we are here to help.  Officer info can be found at www.wisal.org/leadership
