A mere two hours after volunteers met at Headquarters to package and mail them, we received this communication from National:
Department/Detachment Commanders & Adjutants,
We just wanted to inform you that the 2025 membership cards of SAL members who are also Legion members (Dual) were not included in the batch of 2025 cards sent to the departments for distribution. The American Legion is aware of this and is working to rectify the situation. When the problem is fixed, a second batch of 2025 cards that were missing will be sent to the department.
We deeply understand and empathize with the inconvenience this may have caused. We sincerely apologize for any disruption to your membership experience.
There was no timeline offered on when the additional cards will be ready and sent to department headquarters, after which we will need to package and mail them out.
We'll send out an update when more is known.
