Here in Wisconsin, the Sons of The American Legion has led the effort to give GI Josh Dogs to Wisconsin kids who have a parent deploying far from home. Through Spring of 2018 we have will be presenting around 300 GI Josh Dogs and GI Josh Jr's at a cost of more than $15,000. Unfortunately, there are still more deployments occurring, which means we need to continue to raise funds to support this impactful program. In late February Wisconsin Sons joined with The American Legion and Auxiliary in Washington D.C. to meet with our Congressional representatives. More information is available in the March Badger Legionnaire. We also laid wreaths to pay tribute veterans at the Tomb of the Unknown in Arlington, the World War II Memorial, the Women Veteran's Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and the Vietnam War Memorial. Although it was cold and rainy that day, at each stop along the way our thoughts were with those who endured much worse, and gave everything. We are forever grateful.

2018 Spring Executive Committee Meeting

The 2018 Spring Detachment Executive Committee Meetings will be on Saturday, April 28th at Department Headquarters in Portage. Commissions and Committees start at 9:00 am and the general meeting is from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm. Details are available at www.wisal.org/events

2018 Detachment Convention - Oshkosh - July
|

This year’s Detachment Convention is July 13-15 in Oshkosh. If you can’t make it the whole weekend, come for a day or a part of a day. Elections and Awards are on Saturday the 14th. For information see www.wisal.org/convention.
