Remembering 9/11

Today is Patriots Day, the day we set aside to remember the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001.  There have been many poems written about 9/11, many speeches, songs, posters, and memes.  Today, we post this symbol and recall the timeline of that day that changed the world.
  • 08:46 a.m. ET - American Airlines Flight 11 with 92 people on board slams into the north side of the North tower of the World Trade Center.
  • 09:03 a.m. ET - United Airlines Flight 175 with 65 people on board impacts the south side of the South tower of the World Trade Center.
  • 09:37 a.m. ET - American Airlines Flight 77 with 64 people on board is lost from radar screens and impacts the western side of the Pentagon.
  • 09:40 a.m. ET - In an unprecedented move the FAA stops all flight operations at U.S. airports and orders all planes in the aire to land at the nearest airport.  No civilian aircraft are allowed to lift off.
  • 09:59 a.m. ET - The South tower collapses.
  • 10:03 a.m. ET - United Airlines Flight 93 with 44 people on board crashes in a field in Shanksville, PA.  "Let's Roll".
  • 10:10 a.m. ET - The E-ring on the western side of the Pentagon collapses.
  • 10:28 a.m. ET - The North tower collapses.
  • 12:16 p.m. ET - All 4,526 aircraft that were in the air are on the ground.
  • 05:20 p.m. ET - World Trade Center Tower 7 collapses.
On this day, let us not forget those lost that day, but let us also remember those who have sacrificed since then to protect our freedoms and our liberties.

Let us also keep those serving us today in our prayers.
