As part of our dedication to our youth, the Sons of The American Legion Detachment of Wisconsin sponsors a $1000.00 scholarship.
Applicants must be current members in good standing of the Sons of The American Legion, Detachment of Wisconsin, with no less than (3) consecutive years of membership. Applicants must apply during their senior year of high school,or within one year after graduation from high school.
The applicant must have expressed an interest in and an intention to pursue a course in a 4-year degree-granting institution or 2-year program at a technical college. The applicant must submit a copy of his letter of acceptance to an accredited institution.
The following factors will be used in selecting the recipient.
- Scholastic Record
- Contributions to School and Community
- Financial Need
- Squadron Involvement
The amount of this Scholarship shall be $1,000.00 and is payable to the school upon verification of recipients actual enrollment at the institution. Payable in two (2) $500.00 installments. Payments must be applied for and paid within one year after award of the scholarship.
